Maria MatteoMaria Matteo, age 66, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2017 at her home in Paramus, NJ. Maria was born on October 2, 1950 in Cotronei, Italy to Nicola and Maria Pellegrini.At the age of 13, Maria moved to the United States where she later married William Matteo on October 31, 1976 in Brooklyn NY. Their loving marriage of 40 years was filled with adventures and wonderful memories. Maria was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness in 1976. Family, friends and her love for Jehovah were the focus of Maria's life. So much so, she passionately dedicated her life to volunteering all of her time and effort to share those wonderful biblical promises with everyone she met. Maria made sure everyone knew that her door was always open, with food waiting for them. She loved to host and entertain friends and family from all around the world. Even strangers that were welcomed into her home, left feeling like a member of the family. Maria is survived by her loving husband William, her children whom she was devoted to, Gianluca, Ivana, Giacomo, her daughter-in-law Madison, her sister Giuseppina and brother Antonio, along with all of her loving family members and countless others who called her "Momma Maria."A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 223 Cherry Lane, Airmont, NY 10952 at 5:00 p.m Saturday July 8th 2017.
