It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mariah Kenyiah Bailey, who left us on June 1st, 2024, at the tender age of 25. Mariah passed away at the hospital after a courageous battle with womb cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and success that will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
Born into a close-knit family, Mariah was the cherished daughter of Matilyn and Jeremiah Bailey, who will miss her dearly. A devoted sister to Shane, Ryan, and Kevian Bailey, and a loving soul sister to Kamiesha Hall, Mariah’s bond with her family was unbreakable. She was also a dedicated mother to her 1-year-old daughter, Mackayla, who will grow up knowing the incredible woman her mother was.
Mariah was engaged to be married to the love of her life, her fiancé, with whom she was planning a beautiful wedding in March 2025. Their love story was one of deep commitment and joy, and the loss of their future together is a heartbreak that words cannot express.
A brilliant and successful real estate agent, Mariah’s professional life was marked by her dedication, drive, and passion. She touched the lives of many through her work, and her impact on the industry will be felt for years to come.
Mariah’s love for life was evident in her passion for travel. Whether it was a weekend getaway or an international adventure, she could always be found exploring new places with her fiancé and family by her side. One of the most cherished memories is the family trip to Jamaica in January 2024, where Mariah soaked in the warmth of the sandy beaches, creating moments of joy that her family will hold onto in this time of sorrow.
A candlelight vigil will be held in Mariah’s honor on August 15, 2024, followed by a funeral service on Saturday, August 16, 2024, at 810 Shepherd St NW, Washington, DC 20011. As we gather to celebrate Mariah’s life, we remember her as a beacon of kindness, generosity, and love. She was a woman of great spirit, always ready with a smile or a helping hand, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
