Marian Juliet SimmonsLafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Paul Catholic Church honoring the life of Marian Juliet Simmons, 40, who died Sunday, June 25, 2017. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Marian Juliet Simmons was born on August 13, 1976 in New Roads, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Mrs. Simmons was employed with Lafayette Parish School System where she was employed at Acadian Middle School. She was an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and several other organizations. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, attending social gatherings and spending time with her twin sons. Julie was a loving and dedicated mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. She is survived by her husband John Eric Simmons, Sr., two sons, John Eric Simmons, Jr. and John Eric Simmons, III., mother, Mayola Roberts, six brothers, Joseph,Jr. (Vanessa), Michael (Theresa), Ronald, Reginald, Toney (Brandy), and Heurick; three sisters, Sheryal Roberts, Mary Yvonne Zeno (Leonard), Maria Yvette Simon (Abraham), mother and father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Simmons, sister-in-law, Dionne Simmons, uncles, Clarence Davis and John Paul Robert, aunts, Enola Hurst, Betty Ann Celestine, and Gwendolyn Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Roberts, Sr. The Family request that visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017, from 7am until the time of service at St. Paul Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, trust fund contribution can be made in Julie's name to Kinchen Funeral Home for her sons, John, Jr. and John, III. Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc. 1011 N. St. Antoine Street; Lafayette, LA 70501, is in charge of arrangement.
