Marianne W. Mitchell STURTEVANT- Marianne Wilhelmine (nee:Messmer) Mitchell, 70, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on December 23, 2014. Marianne was born on June 10, 1944 to the late Friedolin and Kunigunde (nee: Bohm) Messmer in Erlangen, Germany. She was united in marriage to Frederick J. Mitchell on May 21, 1966 in Racine. Marianne had rough beginnings being born in 1944 Erlangen, Germany, but she flourished and when she was old enough she made her way to the United States, eventually becoming an American citizen in 1978. Here is where she established her new life, fell in love, had children and met people she considered family. She had many jobs but nothing was more important than raising her three children and some others along the way. She was a giving person of her time, her compassion and understanding, and her gifts of love. She was passionate about her family, friends, flowers, politics, and the Packers and always gave them her all! Her parting words would be, Love one another, Be happy, I did it my way. I love you. Marianne leaves behind two sons, James (Carrie) Mitchell, and Eric (Cathy) Mitchell; one daughter, Lisa (Robert) Karasek; grandchildren, Rachel, Brandon , Jessie, Nathan, Evan, Seth, Brittany, Nikki, Tina, Trina, Jeremiah, Jodi, Trevor, Jenna, Jason, DJ, Kimmie, and Shellie; her brother, Manfred (Sieglinde) Messmer and their children, Roland (Carla) Messmer, Michael (Christine), their children as well; and her sister by fate, Jane Lathrop. Marianne is further survived by many extended children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You know who you are. Marianne was preceded in eternal life by her parents, Friedolin and Kunigunde Messmer; and her loving husband, Frederick J. Mitchell and one granddaughter, Bonnie. A memorial service for Marianne will be held Friday, January 2, 2014 at 5:30 PM at Wilson Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 4PM until the time of service at 5:30PM.
