Marie Elizabeth Goodier, 88, of Red Wing, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the Zumbrota Health Services in Zumbrota. She was born on June 14, 1928, in Red Wing, to Monroe and Laura (Swanson) Warn. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1946. On Aug. 26, 1950, she married Tom Goodier. They lived in Red Wing and for 25 years, she worked as a deputy clerk of court in Goodhue County, retiring in 1993. Tom died on July 16, 1983. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping and traveling. She had a very strong faith and her family and friends were her passion. She is survived by two children, Ann (Tom) Schmitt of Owatonna and Todd (Peggy) Goodier of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Matt (Katie) Schmitt, Laura (Jamie) Summer, Christine Schmitt, Joe (Danielle) Goodier and Nick (Molly) Goodier; five great-grandchildren, Greta Schmitt, Emma Summer, Wyatt Goodier, Marshall Goodier and Oliver Goodier; three cousins, Marion TerBorch and Elroy Peterson, both of Red Wing, and Robert Martinson of Richland, Wash.; one sister-in-law, Bev Swanson of Billings, Mont., and special friend, Bob Sward of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with the Rev. Arthur Sharot officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church.
