BETHALTO — Marie K. Harrison, 95, passed away at 8pm on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center of Alton. She was born on September 30, 1921, in Hartford, Illinois, the daughter of the late William and Nellie Clayton. She married Wilbur R. Harrison, Jr. on June 18, 1942, in a double wedding with her new sister in law and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1986. Survivors include one son: Wilbur R. Harrison, III of Ecuador, two grandchildren: Ralph and Molly DiCesare III of St. Mary's, Iowa, Stephanie and Chad Davis of Bethalto, seven great grandchildren: Kailyn, Dominick, Ava, Izzy, Quinton, Payton, and Piper.
Marie was formerly employed at the Alton Mental Health Center in the administrative department for a number of years. She was a member of the Wood River Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Juliet M. DiCesare and a sister: Betty Smith.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Inurnment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
