Pelot, Marie J.Marie J. Pelot, age 92, of Vesper, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday June 21, 2017, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, Wisconsin. Funeral services for Marie will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 23, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper, Wisconsin. Deacon Jerry Ruesch will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 9:00 - 11:00AM. Burial will take place at St. James Parish Cemetery at a later date. Marie was born on February 23, 1925 in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin to the late Peter and Rosina (Vanden Brock) Sticka. She attended and graduated from grade school at Washington School in Thiry Daems, Wisconsin and graduated from Rudolph High School in 1942. She married Albert H. Pelot on June 26, 1943 at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper. Together they resided on a farm in the Town of Sigel for over 51 years. Albert passed away on October 10, 1988. Marie then moved to her present residence in the Village of Vesper in 1996. She was employed by Johnson Hills Department Store, was a bookkeeper for Eight Corners Cheese Factory and served as the treasurer for seven years for Spring Lake School. Marie was also an active member of the St. James PCCW. Marie enjoyed crocheting, oil painting, flowers and polka music. She was an honorary member of the Spring Lake Mothers Club and was a member of the Vesper Crochet Club. Marie enjoyed spending time with her many cousins, nieces and nephews in the Green Bay area. She spent many hours volunteering her time as a member of the Catholic Knights Fraternal Ins. and worked as an elections poll volunteer in Vesper for 15 years. Marie is survived by her children Karen (Robert) Janz, Larry (Cindy) Pelot, Jerry Pelot, Dennis (Penny) Pelot and Kevin (Brenda) Pelot; 12 grandchildren Scott (Jennifer) Pelot, Todd (Jamie) Pelot, Lisa (Elton) Benedict, Jodi (John) Matthews, Jeremy Janz, Jamie McDonald, Dennis (Rachel) Pelot, Daniel Pelot, Kyle Pelot, Brynn Pelot, Misti (Jeff) Lecy and Ashley (Justin Hamm) Seidel; 16 great-grandchildren Courtney Pelot, Ty Pelot, Mariah, Chloe, Alexa and Samuel Matthews, Cohen and Morgan Benedict, Adam and Macy Pelot, Emma and Reid McDonald, Vance Pelot, Corbin Pelot, Lainey Pelot and Allison Hamm.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Albert.Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family with arrangements.
