Marie Irene NicholsApril 29, 1921 - September 9, 2014Marie Irene Nichols, 93, of Homedale, passed away September 9, 2014 at home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale. Interment will follow at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. Marie was born on April 29, 1921, in Vancouver, WA, to Conley and Erma Wallace. Marie was the first of 5 children; joined by sister Vida and three brothers Miles, Blaine, and Arnold. Marie and Wade spent the war years with their sons Kenneth and Glenn at Cordero Mine, NV where Wade worked at the upper mill; mainly roughing out timbers for the mine below. Marie and Wade left Cordero Mine for Homedale, ID in 1948 so their son Kenneth could start grade school. Marie worked odd jobs until Glenn and Kenneth were both in grade school. After that, Marie worked for Vanderford Market Morfitts stores and ultimately Golden Rule and Idaho Dept Store. Marie retired from Idaho Dept Stores and she and Wade embarked on numerous adventures in their retirement years. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Wade and son Glenn. She is survived by her son Kenneth (Wanda), daughter-in-law Becki and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Condolences can be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
