JOHNSON, Marilyn Beverly (Age 92) Marilyn Beverly Johnson, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her residence in Spokane, Washington. Born and raised in Oneida, Illinois, she resided for over 50 years in Wheaton, Illinois, moving to Spokane two years ago. Marilyn was born on November 13, 1924 in Oneida, Illinois, the daughter of Delbert Earl and Alice Verna (McKie) Johnson. She graduated from Oneida High School in 1942 and from Brown's Business College in 1943. She married Philip Gale Johnson on June 18, 1946 in Oneida, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1990.She is survived by her two children, Dianne and husband Bill Molsberry, of Spokane, Washington, Ron Kimberly and wife Carol Johnson, of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, Brent Molsberry of Bellingham, Washington, Amy and husband Edward Arriola of Park City, Utah, Peter Johnson of Austin, Texas, Thomas Johnson of Austin, Texas; one great-grandson, John Arriola of Park City, Utah; one sister, Evelyn Roberts of Normal, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Gale Johnson, sister, Helen Ferne Johnson, brother, Rex Johnson, and parents Delbert and Alice Johnson.Affectionately known as "Gong Gong" and "Auntie M" to her family and friends, Marilyn was a Deacon and Stephens Minister at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Illinois, as well as a member of PEO. She enjoyed traveling around the country and the world, enjoying special experiences like parasailing and riding in a hot air balloon. Her motto was, "I'll never do it any younger!"Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Oneida, Illinois. The funeral service will directly follow at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Carol Johnson will be officiating the services. Interment will be at the Oneida Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held in Spokane, Washington at Touchmark Retirement Center on Friday, December 16th at 11:00 AM.
