Marilyn J. TimmonsMarilyn J. Timmons, 79 of Lafayette died at 11:08, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at IU Health Arnett with her family by her side.She was born on September 26, 1937 in Lafayette to the late Earl and Eva Myers. She was a 1955 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and attended Purdue University. She married George "Tom" Timmons in Lafayette on July 2, 1959, he survives. She was a homemaker and "professional" Mother and Grandmother and also worked at Purdue University where she was the very first recipient of the One Brick Higher Award for excellence.She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lafayette where she was involved with Martha's Circle and 2 Bible Study classes. She enjoyed socializing with both of her monthly eat out groups. She enjoyed taking photos and creating personalized cards and calendars for friends and family. She loved entertaining with friends and family. She is free at last.Along with her husband, she is survived by her 4 children, George (significant other, Diane Heide) Timmons, Mike (Kelli) Timmons, Jennifer (Ray) Spitznagle, Joe (fiancé Brenda Miller) Timmons, and 12 grandchildren, Tom (Amy) Timmons, Herschel (Brittany) Timmons, Chris (fiancé DeVonn) Timmons, Elyse (Andrew) Hester, Jake Spitznagle, Megan Spitznagle, A.J. Timmons, Shelby Spitznagle, Nathan Timmons, Sean Timmons, and Tyler Timmons, Andrew Timmons; 6 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Oakley, Madyson Timmons, Brady, Jaxson, and Flynn Hester; also, one baby Timmons on the way; 2 sisters, Jana Page and Cathi Layden; 1 brother, Jack (Brenda) Myers; 2 sisters-in-law, Carol and Judy Myers; and 2 life-long friends, Ruth Habben and Pat Sense.She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Bob and Dave Myers; 1 brother-in-law, Bob Layden; and 1 grandson, Luke Spitznagle.Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2017 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, at Christ United Methodist Church, 3610 S 18th St, Lafayette.
