Marilyn K. Burnett Westbrook 1946 - 2017 Marilyn K. Burnett Westbrook, 70, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January, 31, 2017, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on April 16, 1946, to Gussie L. Moats Burnett and Leon L. Burnett, in Beaumont. Marilyn taught for thirty-three years at Evadale I.S.D. and was a member of First Christian Church since 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly K. Foote of Buna; sister, Joan Purkey and her husband, Jim, of Beaumont; nieces, Jeri Gentry and her husband, Mark, of Spring and Julie Purkey and her partner, Trish McCall, of Houston; grand-nieces, Lauren Gentry and Madison Gentry; her dog, Oliver; and three granddogs. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Burnett. A gathering of Ms. Westbrook's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
