Marilyn Kay Newnham passed away on Nov. 7, 2017, at the age of 75 due to complications from Parkinson's/Dimentia, surrounded by loving family and friends.Marilyn (Kay as she liked to be called) was born on Aug. 25, 1942, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to John and Madaline (Karnowsky) Newnham. She was the oldest of five children. She lived many places, including Alaska, Greenleaf, Triangle Lake and Grants Pass in Oregon. She went to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she had many good friends until her illness kept her from attending. She loved square dancing and singing and always put others before her.Her love of horses she shared with her mother and her favorite movie was "The Man from Snowy River." Her favorite memories were spent with family and friends for holidays and birthdays. She always took care of her grandchildren when they were sick, feeding them chicken noodle soup with saltines and cutting the crust off of sandwiches. She was blessed with three children, five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way.Kay is survived by her step-father, Dale A. Newnham of Malin, Ore.; daughter, Christy and (Robert) Ruegger of Keno, Ore.; daughter, Sherry R. Newnham of Klamath Falls; sisters, Pam and (Mike) O'Sullivan of Wildomar, Calif., Susan and (Rick) Myers of McMinnville, Ore., and Patricia Johnson of LaGrande, Ore.; brother, Dale J. and (Sherry) Newnham of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Leah, Craig, Amanda (Jason), Anastasia (Gabe), and Lynnaya; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Brianna, Jasmine, Destiny, Bryson, Autumn, Michael, Robert, Tyler, Tina, Harlow, Katon, Nicholas and baby girl; many nieces, nephews and cousins; her aunt, Maxine (Mackie) Bishop whom she was very close to, and her very special friend, Teresa Sowers.Kay was preceded in death by her parents, John Karnowsky and Madaline Newnham, and son, Scott Newnham.
