Marilyn Vinson, 80, of Troy, Pa. (Columbia Township), was called to her heavenly reward on Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, 2016 from her home. Marilyn was born on April 8, 1936 in Athens, Pa., a daughter of the late Clarence and Jennie Amanda (Campbell) Wandell. She was a member of Troy High School's graduating class of 1954. On Dec. 30, 1955, Marilyn married DeWayne Vinson in Wellsburg, N.Y. They shared 54 years together before his passing on June 12, 2010. Marilyn's faith in the Lord guided her life. She was a very active member of Sylvania's Church of Christ and served as treasurer of their Missionary Society. Marilyn also was a long-time member of TOPS, reaching the KOPS level of achievement. Times shared with loved ones was very important to Marilyn; her laughter was contagious and she was blessed with many friends. She loved all animals, especially her cats. She was the family's historian and researched genealogy for several years. Marilyn also was a NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Surviving are her children, Vickie Vinson (Gary) of South Williamsport and DeWayne Lee Vinson (Linda) of Troy; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Gatsche of Williamsport, Matthew (Doniessa) Vinson, Emily Vinson and Nicholas Vinson all of Troy; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Reese, Holden, Wyatt and Brooklyn; a brother, Clair (Linda) Wandell of Sayre; sister-in-law, Julia Wandell of Van Etten, N.Y.; her foster-son, Theron Beck of Texas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends and neighbors. In addition to her beloved husband DeWayne, she was predeceased by an infant son, Howard Lavern Vinson and two siblings, Robert Wandell and Shirley (Roy) Theetge. Calling hours are 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Church of Christ in Sylvania. Her pastor, Rev. George Ogden will officiate the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Lane Cemetery in Luthers Mills. In lieu of flowers, consider memorials to Rainbow Riders, P.O.
