Marilyn W. WoodwardWaukeeMarilyn W. Woodward, 81, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center from cancer. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Waukee Cemetery. Marilyn was born on January 31, 1935, in Fairmont, MN to Eva and Fletcher Knotts. Her family moved to Estherville, Iowa when Marilyn was 11 years old and she completed her high school education there. She married John W. Woodward in 1955. Marilyn worked at the Bankers Trust Insurance Company in Des Moines and later at Farm Bureau Insurance Company, where she retired in 2000. Marilyn and John made their home in Waukee. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John, children, Mike (Kathy) Woodward of Glendale, AZ, Sharon (Felipe) Baez of Des Moines, and Steven (Janet) Woodward of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Meghan, Courtney, Max, Chris and Kevin. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Esther Kooser and Elda Knotts. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church for Masses in her memory.
