Marilyn Lucille Whittaker, 74, passed away at her home on Jan. 5, 2013. She was born on July 13, 1938 in Sterling, Kan. While attending the University of Kansas, she met and married Clive Charles Whittaker III in 1959, until his death in 2004. Throughout their marriage, they traveled extensively with IBM and made homes in New York, Texas, Colorado and Germany where Marilyn learned and loved the language and culture of Germany. They retired and made their final beloved home in White Rock for 23 years.She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. A.A. and Elene Sprong. Marilyn is survived by her sister Cynthia Karl (Pat); daughter Carol Westphal (Brian); sons Chuck Whittaker (Anne Babson) and Bill Whittaker (Terry); six grandchildren: Shana Waring (Max), Alyssa Armstrong (Toby), Trevor Westphal, Madi Westphal, Charlotte Whittaker and Nathan Westphal. A first great-grandchild is due to arrive in July.Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
