BURLEYMarilynn J. Marilynn J. Burley, 93, of Point Place, passed away in her home on Friday, December 2, 2016. She was born on September 11, 1923 to Robert and Josephine (Nopper) Holley.Marilynn was a 1941 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Toledo, since 1958. She had 27 years of service at St. John's School; 19 years as 3rd grade teacher and 8 years as principal. She loved the children she taught and her first class she ever taught had 57 students. She attended Bowling Green State University and earned her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Toledo. Marilynn was very active in Beta Sigma Phi, a worldwide women's service organization She was a world traveler, to include a safari in Africa and walking the Great Wall of China. She went to Hong Kong, Russia, and England. She traveled Europe extensively.Left to cherish Marilynn's memory is her husband of 65 years, Ralph D. Burley, whom she married on October 6, 1951; children, Michelle “Shelly” Burley, Kevin (Margie) Burley, and Kim (Ken) Janke; and 4 grandchildren, Melissa, Paige, Emma, and Grant. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at David R. Jasin Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5153 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611, beginning at 10 a.m. with Father David Cirata, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
