Marilynn J. Kozyak, age 88, of Glen Carbon, IL, and longtime resident of Granite City, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Meridian Village, Glen Carbon, IL. Marilynn was born on September 19, 1928 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Wesley and Elsie (Meyer) eene.On April 17, 1948, Marilynn Greene married Bill Kozyak, the love of her life, at the First Presbyterian Church in Granite City, IL and Bill passed away on October 19, 2015. Marilynn and Bill owned and operated Kozyak Grocery Store in Granite City, IL from 1950 until 1988. Marilynn and Bill's business experience and knowledge was instrumental to their son, Bob, starting Bobby's Frozen Custard in 1990. Marilynn was a hard worker and she enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.Marilynn is survived by her loving children, John (Barbara Silverman) Kozyak of Miami, FL, Robert (Debbie) Kozyak of Caseyville, IL and Kathleen (Robert) Jackstadt of Glen Carbon, IL; proud grandmother to Justin Kozyak, Dr. Benjamin (Dr. Katherine Jones) Kozyak, Jeremy Kozyak, Zhanell (Tyler) Enloe, Bryson (Aimee) Jackstadt and Quincy (Kaide) Jackstadt; proud great-grandmother to Susannah Kozyak, Coen Jackstadt, Brady Jackstadt and Wesley Enloe; dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mathew and Sandra Kozyak Jr. of Granite City, IL; extended family and many friends.In celebration of her life, a private family memorial service will be held at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, IL. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
