Marion CouvillionMarion Sakaye Kohara Couvillion passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 14, 2017. She was born on Tuesday, February 8, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Saki Oishi Shima of Shizuoka, Japan and Manabu Kohara of Kitsuki, Japan. Her childhood was spent in Alexandria, LA and she lived in Kenner and the Greater New Orleans area for 42 years before moving to Covington, LA in 1996. Mrs. Couvillion graduated from LSU in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science from the Department of Commerce.The beloved wife of the late James Earnest Couvillion, she is survived by her son - Charles Curtis Couvillion (Maria Torres); two daughters - Constance Couvillion Haydel (Michael Dennis Haydel) and Cynthia Carol Couvillion; five grandchildren - Malori Mia Couvillion, Andrea Christina Laiche, Megan Elizabeth Haydel, Logan Michael Haydel and Ethan Destin Haydel and two great-grandchildren - Wyatt James Englund and Blade James "JR." Bonnet. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter - Catherine Couvillion Eiland; her sister - Kay Kohara Edwards; and three brothers - Susumu "Sammy", Tomatsu "Tommy" and Jack Minoru Kohara. Interment and graveside services will take place in Alexandria, LA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army,
