CROMWELL — Marion Clester Halsey, Sr., 86, of Cromwell, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, in Ligonier, IN. He was born on June 10, 1928, in LaGrange County, IN, to John C. and Lula Mae (Gevedon) Halsey. He married Pearl Marie Foreman on March 4, 1951. He is survived by his wife, Pearl, of Cromwell; a son, Marion C. Halsey, Jr. of Ligonier, IN; his grandchildren: Derek L. (Pam) Halsey of Cromwell, IN; Drew L. (Amy) Halsey of Ligonier, IN and Breanne (William) Willey of Milford, IN; his great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Halsey, Brandon Northrup, Zachary Halsey, Zoey Halsey and Abby Willey. He is survived by a sister, Justine (Norbert) Gaff of Florida, and a brother, Ralleigh Halsey of Kimmell, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. Mr. Halsey served his country in the United States Army. He was employed with Atz Furniture in Ligonier for many years. He was a farmer. He enjoyed playing horse shoes. A funeral service in his honor will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joseph Brickey will officiate. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
