Stonington - Marion Helen Vislosky, 88, of Stonington, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred Vislosky. She was also predeceased by her sister, Irene Dyrcz, of Oakdale, N.Y.She was born on Jan. 14, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late John and Mary Wisniewski. She proudly spoke of growing up in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn and graduated with academic honors from the Girls High School. Marion, who often spoke of being proficient in mathematics and boasted of being asked by teachers to grade the papers of other students, had a brief career as a bookkeeper.She met and married the love of her life, Fred Vislosky, on June 14, 1952, in Brooklyn, N.Y. They lived in Brooklyn and Barcelona, Spain. They enjoyed travelling throughout the United States and Europe, before settling in Stonington in 1960. She found her true calling as a military wife and mother. She tirelessly and caringly raised her family and maintained her household all while enjoying knitting, crocheting and watching the Yankees on TV.She is survived by her children, Ronald Vislosky of Guilford, Karen Jessee and her husband, Ron, of Griswold, Donna Woviotis of Pawcatuck, Richard Vislosky and his wife, Jeannie, of Stonington; also ten grandchildren, Michael Willis and his wife, Heather, of Griswold, Kevin Benevides and his wife, Sheri-Ryan, of Waterford, Roger Jessee and his wife, Abbey, of Griswold, Melinda Jessee and her husband, Eric Gervais, of Lisbon, Nicholas, Zachary and Alexa Woviotis of Pawcatuck, Samantha, Amanda and Aaron Vislosky of Stonington; also seven great-grandchildren, Noelle and Nicole Willis, Callan and Cade Benevides, Rylee Jessee, and Chance and Solan Gervais.Her family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, (51 Williams Ave)., Mystic. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at St. Mary Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marion's name may be made to the .
