Marion McDanielFebruary 24, 1937 - January 23 2016Marion L. McDaniel, 78, of Challis, Idaho, passed away at his home in the presence of his sister on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Challis. Viewing will be in the Relief Society Room from 10:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The burial will be in the Springfield - Sterling Cemetery on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Springfield.Marion L. McDaniel was born on February 24, 1937 in Bancroft, Idaho to John Milton and Rachel Leona Johnson McDaniel. His family lived in Bancroft, Blackfoot and moved to Challis, Idaho in 1949 so his mother could manage the Challis Hospital. Marion was doing his Family History all day Friday and also Saturday, until about three hours before he passed away. He is survived by two sisters, Arleen Holzapfel of McKinney, Texas, and Lucile Stecklein of Blackfoot, Idaho; one brother, Frederick (Lynn) McDaniel of Chubbuck, Idaho; one sister-in-law, Helen McDaniel of Alamo, Nevada; 13 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dick McDaniel, and two brothers-in-law, Bob Holzapfel and Elmer Stecklein.For a complete obituary, please see online at www.jonesandcaseyfh.com.
