CROMWELL – Marjorie Roberta Bushong, age 90, left Parkview Noble Hospital to be with Jesus December 5th, 2015. She was born on January 18, 1925 to Leroy M. and Mable I. (Bause) Hontz on the family farm near Cromwell, IN. On Easter Sunday, April 9, 1944 she married Emerson Bushong at the family farm. Upon Emerson's return from
World War II, they resided at the family farm near Cromwell their entire 61 years of marriage. Mrs. Bushong was a graduate of North Webster High School and attended Manchester College. She was a lifetime member of the Indian Village E.U.B. Church- Indian Village United Methodist Church where she was very active in the music ministry, playing piano and organ for 70 years at church services and also served in other capacities. She was a former member of the Washington Township Homemaker's Club as well as serving on various other county committees. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were loved very much by her. She is survived by a daughter, Sasha Hively of Kimmell, a son, Daniel Bushong of Cromwell, a daughter, Sharon Gerig of Shipshewana, and a son, Stephen Bushong of Churubusco. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Ingrid (Brad) Kohlhagen, Lukus Hively, Les (Amy) Hively, Trent (Mary) Gerig, Tiffany (Chad) Bender, Stefanie (Jason) Brown, Scott (Rachel) Bushong and Stacie (Matthew) Gensic; thirteen great-grandchildren, Bo, Bree and Beth Kohlhagen, Cole, Kara and Connor Hively, Kaela, Jacob, Andrew, Mia, and Levi Gerig, Makenna and Colton Bender and Evan, Isaac, and Emerson Bushong, and Jackson Brown. Mrs. Bushong was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emerson Bushong; an infant brother, Herbert Hontz; and a son-in-law, Thomas Joe Hively. A funeral service will be held in Marjorie's honor on Thursday December 10, 2015 at 11 AM at Yeager Funeral Home; 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Diana Siegel will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell. Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Wednesday December 9, 2015 at Yeager Funeral Home.
