Marjorie Wilkie Dillinger, 92, died peacefully and comfortably in her home on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, with her children by her side, listening to the broadcast of the Fort Worth Symphony's Christmas concert. She is now "sleeping in heavenly peace." Memorial service: A family memorial service and celebration of life will be held in Sunapee, N.H., this summer. Memorials: Contributions can be made to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Marjorie Hankin was born on March 27, 1924, in Summit, N.J. She graduated from Kent Place School in 1941 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1945. After World War II, she married Valleau Wilkie and they began a rewarding life in education at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., from 1948 to 1959. They enjoyed raising their two children, Jan and Bob, along with being dormitory counselors. In 1959, the Wilkie family moved to Byfield, Mass., where Val served as headmaster of Governor Duummer Academy (now known as The Governor's Academy) for 13 years. The Wilkies bought land in Sunapee, where they spent their summers enjoying the beautiful lake and mountains. Marge celebrated her 90th birthday at her Sunapee home in 2014 with all of her family in attendance. In 1973, Val and Marge moved to Fort Worth. Val was recruited to head the Sid W. Richardson Foundation which provides grants to educational, human service, health and cultural organizations in Texas. In 1988, Marge married Edward Dillinger, former college professor at Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth. Together they loved cheering on the Texas Rangers, enjoying the Fort Worth Symphony and spending their summers in Sunapee. Marge loved Sunapee, Fort Worth, the symphony, and her family. Survivors: Marjorie is survived by her children, Bob and Tanya Wilkie of Sunapee, N.H., and Jan Wilkie and Larry Reinert of Cleburne; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
