Marjorie Hood Scott, 87, of Chaplin, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at the Heritage Hall Health and Rehab Center in Lawrenceburg.A native of Nelson County, she was born on Dec. 2, 1927, to the late Isaiah and Worley Royalty Hood.She was a lifelong member of Chaplin Baptist Church, a graduate of the last graduating class of Chaplin High School, a homemaker and a retired employee of the General Electric Company of Louisville.She was preceded in death by her husband, Chauncy Scott on July 24, 1997; and a sister, Buford Curtsinger.Survivors include two sons, Lavalle Scott and Jeffery Scott and his wife, Audrey, of Lawrenceburg; three daughters, Deborah King, and her husband, Bradley, of Burgin, Theresa Byrd and her husband, Doug, of Chaplin, and Eleanor Currens, of Salvisa; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, at Chaplin Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Walters, the interim pastor, officiating.Burial will be in High View Cemetery in Chaplin.Pallbearers will be Denver Scott, William J. Currens, Dallas Scott, Lee Scott, Quentin Byrd, Trent Hazelwood, Mason Hazelwood, Richard Nalley, Joseph Harris and Mike McKenzie.Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the church.Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
