Marjorie "Marge" Louise MillerZANESVILLE: Marjorie "Marge" Louise Miller, 88, of Zanesville, died at 9:00pm Saturday July 27, 2013 at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born on July 23, 1925, in Zanesville Ohio, a daughter of the late Oho J. Margaret Eleanor Rowe Miller. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for more than 60 years. Marge graduated from Lash High School in 1943, attended Muskingum College for 2 years and then graduated from Wittenberg University in 1947, with a degree in education. Marge taught mostly 3rd and some 4th graders. After 35 years of teaching she retired from West View in 1983 and continued to substitute till 1988. Marge was an active member of AAUW (American Association of University Women), member and past president of 2 sororities at Wittenberg, past president for the ACE (Associates Childhood Education) and she held a position of chairman for the children show at the Art Center. Marge had a very kind heart and loved children. But her greatest love was for her dogs. She had many over the years and all were treated like family.Marge has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior and she will be missed by many. She is survived by special friends, Mary (Dwight) Hill of Zanesville and Chris and Paul Bowser of Pickerington. Marjorie was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her step-father Harry A. Rowe, her childhood friend Lucille (Stiers) Arnold and her dear friend Mary L. Walsh. Visitation will be held from 12 noon till 1:00pm on Wednesday July 31st with Funeral services immediately to follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Gary Butler officiating at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.The Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville is in charge of the arrangements.
