Marjorie F. WrightJune 4, 1923 - May 29, 2017YorkMs. Marjorie F. Wright, 93, entered into rest on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Manor Care Kingston Court. She was the widow of Beryl C. Wright, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.Ms. Marjorie was born on June 4, 1923 to the late Pink and Rosebud Johnson.During her years of employment, Ms. Marjorie worked for York Hospital and retired after thirty years of service as a Supervisor in Housekeeping. Ms. Marjorie loved bowling and going to church, she was an active member on the Stewardess Board at Small Memorial AME Zion Church, but most of all she loved and enjoyed being with her family.Ms. Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory a son, Vertice Wright, wife Mary; five daughters, Geraldine Wright, Peggy Lemon, Rose Matthews, husband Tyrone, Tonie Corbin and Kobie Mackenzie, husband Douglas; a sister-in-law, Ruby Reeves, husband Ivan; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Judge Johnson; two sisters, Mable Austin and Arie Austin-Deloney; a son, Murdis Wright; and a daughter, Myra Latif.A Celebration of Life service will take place Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 356 W. Princess St., York 17401 with Rev. Cliff Moye, officiating.
