Mark A. TaylorUrbandaleMark "Bud" A. Taylor, Jr., 85, of Urbandale, died Sunday February 19, 2017, at Senior Suites of Urbandale. Bud was born on June 20, 1931 in Fort Dodge, the son of Mark A. Sr. and Florence Taylor. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1950.Bud served in the Korean War with the 729th AC & W Squadron at Clovis, NM AFB as a radar operator from 1951-1953. He married the love of his life and best friend, Charlene Koester, on June 7, 1952. They had one son, Mark A Taylor, III. Bud and Charlene made their home in Beaverdale. Bud was a lifelong ISU Cyclone fan and Chicago Cubs fan. He was happy to see the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.Bud is survived by his grandchildren Mat, Brian, and Keaton Buster; five great grandchildren all of Illinois; his sister Sarah "Kippy" Rolow; daughter-in-law Diane Buster; and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his wife Charlene, son Mark, parents, and sister Patty.A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Merle Hay Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be left at www.iowafuneralplanning.com.
