Mark Eugene Singrey, Sr.95, of Speedway, passed away peacefully on February 8th. He was born on June 27, 1921 in Marshall County, Indiana to Earl and Zora Singrey. He was a WWII combat veteran of the Normandy Invasion in the 83rd Infantry Division and earned a Purple Heart. He was a federal government employee, retiring in 1983 as division chief for DCAS at Allison Transmission/Gas Turbine. He married Mary Mosca on January 31, 1942, who preceded him in death.He is survived by his children Jean (Phil) Schall, Pat (Tom) Smith, and Mark Singrey, Jr. He was the best grandpa in the world to Jeff (Beth) Schall, Greg (Amber) Schall, Angie (Joe) Smith, Chad (Jill) Smith, Amy (Jason) DeLisle, April (Andrew) Gilmore, Brooke (Eric) Minnix, and Brad Singrey. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren. Mark was a husband, father, grandpa, friend, warrior, survivor, and hero to his family.
