1961 ~ 2016Bountiful, Utah-Our loving husband, father, grand-father 'papa' passed away on November 7, 2016. Mark was born on February 27, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph and Jean Lambert Beckstrand. He married Karin Matheson on November 1, 1985 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 1, 1986. They were blessed with three children who have brought so much joy and happiness into their lives.Mark served an LDS mission to Chicago, Illinois. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints fulfilling many callings in his ward. He was currently serving in his favorite position as a primary teacher. Spending time with his family was what made Mark the happiest. He loved to go camping, fishing, hunting, and doing anything mechanical. He spent his life always willing to give service to others. His kindness, his hugs, and his big heart will be missed by all who knew him, but mostly by his wife, children, and granddaughters. In memory of Mark his family is requesting others participate in the LDS Church #LIGHTtheWORLD 2016 Christmas initiative.Mark is survived by his wife Karin, children Brindy (Justin) Simmons, Keaton Beckstrand, and McKenna Beckstrand. Loving 'papa' to granddaughters Addison May and Indy Jo. He is also survived by his siblings: Sandra Beckstrand, Janice (Bryan) Hough, Craig (Tylene) Beckstrand, Neil (Laurie) Beckstrand, and sister-in-law Lori Beckstrand Thomas.Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Jean Beckstrand, and by brother Ronald Beckstrand.Funeral Services and Viewing will be held at Val Verda Stake Center located at 2600 South 500 West, Bountiful, Utah on Monday, November 14, viewing prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45.
