Mark J. Mayle, 43, died in a car accident on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 26, 1966 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Mark and his wife, Grace, lived in San Antonio for over ten years. At the time of his death he was a Clinical Research Director for ICON Clinical Research. Mark grew up in Yuma and graduated from Yuma High School in 1984, attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the University of Utah. Mark had over fifteen years of expertise in the development of drugs to combat cancer. As his knowledge of and contributions to oncology research grew, he also became a great mentor and true friend to many associates. His legacy lives on in all of those who loved, learned, and laughed with him. He was a very bright and colorful young man who will be truly missed. His lifelong love of the outdoors included water sports, motocross, snow skiing, sport fishing and more recently golf. Marks competitive and exuberant personality was evident in all of these adventures. He worked hard and played hard! That work ethic, crazy sense of humor, and his zest for life will be remembered by all who were privileged to know him. Mark is survived by his parents, Lenore and George Barrientos, Glenn and Ethel Mayle; sister, Brenda (Clint) Brown; niece, Taryn. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Mark was preceded in death by his little sister, Carol Mayle, and his wonderful grandparents John and Helen Butler. Mark, you packed a lot of living into your too few years. Well done, Champ!
