On October 24, 2012, Mana was called home by our Sacred Creator. She was born on September 17, 1973, in Yuma.Marlene attended San Pasqual Elementary and High School. She later earned her GED and was employed with Cocopah and Quechan Casinos from the early 1990's to 2005. She was a loving mother, sister, and daughter who enjoyed spending time with family, going to the casino, and enjoyed music. She was a strong independent woman who took life head on and persevered. She was an overall beautiful person, who was tender hearted but a fierce protector of her family. Even though she was going through tough times, she always stayed strong.Marlene is survived by her sons, Brandon and Ryan Marks; father, Marlowe Barley Sr.; sisters, Maria (Joseph) Barley, Marcie (Daniel) Villanueva, Markia (Chato) Barley, and Markita (Joseph) Barley; brothers, Marlon (Aracely) Barley, Mario (Teresa) Barley, Marcus (Holly) Barley, Marlow Barley Jr., and Marco Barley.She was preceded in death by her mother, Marveen Brown; grandparents, Alice and Fritz Brown, as well as Doris Hernandez and Owen Barley; cousin, Alicia Brown.A viewing will be held at Yuma Mortuary, Friday, November 2, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. and tribal rites will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Quechan Big House. Cremation will follow at 5:00 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2012.Pallbearers will be Ryan Marks, Brandon Marks, Marlon K. Barley Sr., Mario E. Barley Sr., Marco F.
