Marlene Tenorio, 50, a resident of Las Vegas she was surrounded by her family as she departed to heaven on Monday, March 27, 2017 in Las Vegas.She was born on Aug. 28, 1966 to Luis Saiz and Lugarda Luna Saiz in Vaughn.She served as vice president for NMHU student senate during her college years, as well as former executive director of Hispano Chamber of Commerce. She taught at Luna Community College, she was director of Adult Based Education, a choir director at I.C. Church, member of Catholic Daughters, ACTS Sister, and member of I.C. Church Altar Society. She was one of the sponsors of the Life Teen Youth Group and taught religious education and confirmation classes. She enjoyed playing her guitar, clarinet and saxophone.She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Lugarda Saiz; three brothers, Tony, Nick and Fulgencio Saiz; twin sister, Charlene Saiz; and infant sister, Juanita Saiz.Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Michael Tenorio; daughter, Estrella Tenorio (Phillip Ivan Trujillo); sons, Estevan Tenorio and Enrico Tenorio, all of Las Vegas; sisters, Gloria Gallegos and husband, Leroy, of Las Vegas, Pablita Chavez and husband, Joe, of Albuquerque; brothers, Luis Saiz Jr. and wife, Rose, of Houston, Fred Saiz (Rose Tenorio) of Santa Rosa, Ruben Saiz and wife, Chavela, of Puerto de Luna, Manuel Saiz and wife, Velma, of Albuquerque, Christian Saiz of Clovis, numerous nieces, nephews , godchildren, other relatives and many friends.Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Saturday also at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Debra Garcia, Dolores Salazar, Andrew Tenorio, Francisco Gallegos, Phil Trujillo, Sebastian Flores, Juan Silva, Juan Murguia and Leroy Gallegos. Serving as honorary bearers will be Anselmo Arellano, Luis Saiz Jr., Fred Saiz, Ruben Saiz, Manuel Saiz, Christian Saiz and Joe Chavez.Public visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today (Friday) at Rogers Mortuary Chapel.Visit Rogers Mortuary's website at
