Marsha Gear OliverMountain BrookMarsha Gear Oliver of Mountain Brook, 73 passed away Thursday June 29, 2017 at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.She was born on January 20, 1944 in Akron, Ohio.Predeceased in death by her parents, George Adrian Gear and Dorothy Sherrouse Gear of Jackson, Mississippi. Survived by her husband of 50 years. Dr. Robert Irwin Oliver Sr., children , Laura Oliver Spigener, Dr. Robert Irwin Oliver Jr. (Melissa) and Dr. George Reinhold Oliver (Qian) and her six grandchildren, Charlotte Spigener, Robert, Will, Charles, Andrew and Archer Oliver and her aunt June Sherrouse Holmes, brother Charles Gear (Mari) and sister, Adrianne Gear Hall and, many nieces, nephews and extended family.Bama was known for her quick smile, wit, a beloved wife, a loving mother anddevoted grandmother. She was special to many people whom she loved andshepherded. Marsha loved to cook, read, do crossword puzzles and talk on thephone. Marsha graduated from Murrah High School and Southern Methodist University in elementary education and where she was a Rotunda beauty. She was presented at The Debutante Club of Mississippi and was Queen of Carnival Ball in Jackson, Mississippi. She loved teaching her 1st grade and preschool students.Marsha was member of Junior League of Birmingham, Charades Dance Club,Valley Off Shoots Garden Club, Cherokee Rose Garden Club, The Women'sMedical Auxiliary and Mountain Brook Community Church.
