Marshina Andrea Griffin , 57, passed on September 09, 2020. She was born to Grace Burekley in Washington D.C on December 26, 1962. Marshina had 2 children Renando Griffin, Kenneth Quick. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren (Mehkyla,Lawnise,Renando,Alonzo,Nasya,Moriah) and Older sister Soraya Griffin.
In her early childhood is was raised in the Arthur Capper neighborhood were she gained life long friendships and "Sisters from other misters" as she would say. Thru the development of her life she spent various years with different family members while her mom battled sickness from illness. Throughout those years she grew to know all sides of her family and made sure her grace and presence was felt and heard with every step she took walking.
She started her education at Anne Beers Elementary and Randell Elementary, then attend Hines jr High middle school. For high school she went to "Big Bad Dunbar" as she called it graduated from Dunbar SHS in 1981 and also briefly attend Brown University before having to come back home and attend to her sick mother.
She started her work career at the the US Justice department as a paralegal assistant. Shortly after she relocated to the US Attorney Office were she gained a lot of connections and more popularity from her shining personality. She stayed there 10+ years then switched pace and went to work with Federal Judges as she would say while doing her famous two step and start bragging about her lunch and easy flow job. Marshina worked at Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and was passionate about placing a smile on the faces of everyone in the building the moment she arrived at work. She joined them in 2004 and finished her term there in September 2020 after her passing.
Throughout her life she made sure to enjoy the time she spent out and about to her it didn't matter whether she was on the casino floor, sandy beach, or southeast streets. She was the LIGHT of every room and party she was in. She is the heart of a lot family and friends and will truly be missed. She will forever hold a spot on Earth through all the love she spread and received. May God Bless Your Soul And Take You Into Heaven Gates Open Arms.
