Marta Ann Petersson, 52, of Bloomington, Minn., and formerly of Rochester, passed away on Nov. 16, 2016. Marta was born on July 16, 1964, in Rochester. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1982 and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in graphic design. Marta enjoyed gardening and landscaping projects. She was very creative in every facet of her life — painting, drawing, decorating and commercial art work. Marta worked for many years at Champps Sports Bar in Richfield and Burnsville. She enjoyed decorating Champps for the holiday season. Marta also did professional wedding decorating. Marta is survived by her mother and father, Sylvia and Jerry Ramaker of Rochester; sister, Lisa Petersson (Sonia Furini) of Minneapolis; brother, Eric (Carmel) Petersson of Duluth; three step-sisters, Sara Sleeuwenhoek (Brad Jilek) of Birchwood, Wis.,Carla Schaffner of Rochester and Cynthia Collett of Ecuador, S.A. Marta was preceded in death by her father, John (Jack) Petersson in February 1970. A memorial service for Marta will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 Third Ave. SE, Rochester. Visitation will be an hour before the service, starting at noon. A reception will follow the service. Memorials are preferred to Margaret's House, Chemical Dependency Treatment Service in Mendota Heights, Minn.
