Martha Kierzek, 93St. Joseph, MNApr. 26, 1923 - Nov. 9, 2016 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MN on Tuesday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial will be in the St. Joseph, Parish Cemetery in St. Joseph and Lunch will follow at Heritage Hall.Martha Kierzek died peacefully surrounded by family on November 9, 2016 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Minnesota. Martha was born on April 26, 1923 in St. Anna, Minnesota to Stanley and Frances (Goltz) Morgel. She married John Kierzek on May 25, 1943.Martha's very special treasure was her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the
VFW Post #5773 Auxiliary in St. Joseph and the Y2K Lions Club. She was so happy to receive the Helen Keller Award from the Lions Club. She and John were the Senior King and Queen of the 4th of July parade years ago. They worked for many years at the 4th of July Church Bazaar. She also was very active and volunteered for many years for the Lioness Club and the Lions Club. Martha loved to laugh and tell jokes and always had a smile and greeting for everyone. She and John were able to spend many happy winters in Arizona. They enjoyed all the social activities with their many friends, especially playing cards.Martha is survived by her children Rita (Wayne) Nowicki of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Donald (Roxanne) of Tucson, Arizona and Harvey (Mary) Kierzek of Montgomery, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Susan, Kymn, Amy, Jeff, Brian and Aaron; her great-grandchildren Carissa, Sara, Kyle, Riley, Brooke, Brandon, Alannah, Hailey, Leah and Emily and two step-great-granddaughters, Jordyn and Jasmyn. She is also survived by her sisters Victoria Langner, Helen Hennek, Sophie (Bob) Ross and Rose (Paul) March and brother Ted Morgel. She was preceded in death by her husband John, siblings Roman, Louis, Jerome and Cecelia and grandson, Brennan Kierzek.
