Martha KobarAsheville - On July 2, 2017, we mourn the loss of our mom, Martha Eva Kobar. She was the wife of the late Kelly Kobar, and joined him in heaven on his birthday. Martha was born on December 17, 1920, in Scranton, Pa, and moved to Asheville, NC, in 2006.Martha was a devoted Catholic who prayed the rosary and Catholic Devotion books daily. She worked in the textile industry prior to retirement. She is a member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church.Surviving are her two children, John and Julie and their families. Martha was very special to her granddaughter Allison.We would like to especially thank Dr. Kutob, Lisa (Nurse Practitioneer), Rhonda (encouraged and supported her to walk and maintain her mobility), Andrea (helped her get going in the morning and dropped by to cheer her day), Carmen (brought the daily activities and news of the day program), and all the staff who provided outstanding care and encouragement for our mom.Among other activities at the Laurels at Summit Ridge, Martha enjoyed playing bingo and working on her word find books.Nothing can replace the piece of our heart that belongs to our mom. Please keep her in your prayers.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by The Rev. Fr. Patrick Cahill at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Eugene's Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Catheral Mausoleum in Scranton, Pa.
