Mrs. Martha Wenjack, age 55 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, February 23, 2017, with her family by her side.Martha was born on March 6, 1961 in Sioux Lookout. She dedicated her life to raising her family. Martha had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She was very skilled at many crafts, including crocheting, knitting and beading. Above all else, family was her main focus. She loved spending time with all of her relatives and friends and greatly enjoyed the various travelling and adventures they shared together. Martha was a kind, loving woman and made the best out of every situation. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. Martha is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter Jessica, son-in-law Jason Poyle and grandchildren Harmoney, J.J and Connor. She is also survived by mother Agnes Wenjack and her 4 sisters Daisy Munro, Pearl Achneepineskum, Evelyn Baxter and Annie Wenjack as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and godchildren. She was predeceased by her son Archie; father James Wenjack; sisters Margaret, Emily and Lizzie; brothers Charlie, George and Sam and nephews Wild Bill Achneepineskum, Aaron Achneepineskum, Kevin Munroe, Simon Munroe and niece Nicole Munroe. Visitation for family and friends in Thunder Bay was held on Saturday evening in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma. Martha will be transported to Fawcett Funeral Home in Geraldton, Ontario where visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 7:00PM until 9:00PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00AM in St. James Anglican Church, Geraldton, officiated by Rev. Larry Armstrong. Cremation will follow the service and interment will take place in Pinegrove Cemetery at a later date.Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Martha to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
