MARTHA L. WHITNEY, 80 FREEPORT - Martha L. Whitney, 80, of Freeport passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013. She was born on June 28, 1933, in Yazoo City, Mississippi; the daughter of Roosevelt and Charlotte (Walker) Stiff. Martha graduated from Wendell Phillips High School and Chicago State University. She was employed by GTE, Ryan Steel, and was a care giver. She was a member of St. Kilian Parish, Queen of the Chicago Hawaiian Social Club for Men, also a Cub Scout leader, and a Girl Scout leader. Martha is survived by her children, Trina L. Whitney (Dedrick) Simpson, Charlie (Linda Gail) Whitney Jr., and Michael V. Whitney; grandchildren, Markesha Whitney (Kendrick) Baker , Charlie (Danielle) Whitney III, Raqual Dixon, Audra Whitney, Issy Whitney, Michael J. Whitney, Aaliyah Whitney, Trina Pashawn Whitney, Micaela M. Whitney, Eneka Hennings; great-grandchildren, Kendrick M. Baker, Kendriona M. Baker, Aniya Stovall; nephew, Page Bouldin Jr.; and niece, Robin P. Delaney. She is preceded by her mother and father; sister, Albertine Bouldin; and niece, Carlotta Bouldin. Memorial Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd., with Father Robert Camacho officiating.
