MARTIN GLAZIER
LIMA —Martin Marty Glazier, 88, died at 2:17 AM on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Lima Convalescent Home.
Martin was born on Monday, July 16, 1928, in New York, to the late George and Celia (Leventhal) Glazier. On Thursday, June 6, 1957, in Temple Beth Israel in Lima, he married Glendora A. Cross who survives in Lima.
Martin earned a Masters Degree from BGSU and was a teacher for over thirty years in the Lima City Schools. Later on in his life he taught at Rhodes State University and was a member of the Ohio Education Association (OEA) and the Breakfast Optimist. Martin was a member of the Temple Beth Israel and was a part of the Allen County Democratic Party. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong baseball fan, especially of the Cincinnati Reds and the Lima Locos.
He is survived by: a daughter, Lisa (John) Melton of Fort Wayne; sons, Joe (Dawn) Glazier of St. Mary's and Dan (Juliet) Glazier of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Melissa, Holly, Ally, Jeremy and Julie Dee and a great granddaughter, Olivia Glazier.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Seymour Glazier.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. and from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 10 A.M. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Rabbi Yossi Zylberberg will officiate. Interment will be in Shaare-Zedek Cemetery. Graveside Military Honors will be given by VFW Post #1275.
