ClarksvilleHellinger, Martin "Ted",Martin Frederick "Ted" Hellinger, Jr., 85, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on December 8, 2016. He retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad after 43 years of service and was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville Indiana. Ted was dedicated in serving his church in the cafeteria for over 23 years, was a "Heavenly Duster," and also known as the sticker man. He served as a scout leader for 17 years and was very talented in his beautiful rose garden, and his picture framing business.Ted was born on July 1, 1931, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to Martin and Florence (Carver) Hellinger. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Marty and Mickey Hellinger and Carol Lynn Hardman (Joe); siblings, Hub, Jerry, and Dennis Hellinger.Ted is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carol (Young) Hellinger; his children, Gina Ober, David Hellinger (Teresa), Lisa Leister (Tom), and Terri Hibbs (Harry); daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hellinger; his siblings, Norma and Sylvia Crowe, Barbara Young, Janice Groce, and Butch and Pete Hellinger; along with 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 North Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana 47129) at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The (701 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky 40203) or The (15120 Collections Center Drive, Lock Box #15120, Chicago, Illinois 60693).To leave a special message for the family, please visit
