Marvin Bruce McLennan, 70, of Tomball, TX, passed away suddenly September 2, 2021 at Tomball (HCA) Hospital.
Marvin was born on May 23, 1951, in Houston, Texas, the son of Kenneth and Elsie (Pruess) McLennan. He grew up in “household” where he met most of his ‘circle of life’ friends, as well as Jane whom he married. He attended San Jacinto High School and had a love of baseball that he truly lived and breathed, especially for the Houston Astros. For more than 55 years, Marvin portrayed a passionate heart for this game like no other. When he didn’t have a baseball and a bat as a kid, he would use a golf ball and a stick as a substitute, all by himself as he dreamed of playing. He would even create his own score books as a kid.
Later in life, he coached his own children’s teams while teaching other kids the game, which allowed him to thrive in his off time.
He enjoyed plumbing, was a truck driver, an amazing builder, electrician, painter, story & poetry writer, and found a niche for his own unique creativeness.
In his own time, he put all of those things to the side; loving the Lord, his family, and his friends was his breath and his happiness. He also loved to cook and serve others. He was always the one at social gatherings that would willingly pass out the napkins to everyone who needed them. Most of all, he wasn't afraid to love or to express himself, whether he was in fellowship or involved in worship. He gave glory to God every second he was able to. Marvin was the most selfless person, a biggest teddy bear at heart.
He is survived by his 3 children, Nathaniel McLennan with his wife Amanda, Chris McLennan, and Cathrynne McLennan; 3 grandchildren, Savannah McLennan, Emily McLennan, and Avery Smith; 2 sisters, Peggy Camp and Sheryl Chastain; brother, Daniel McLennan; former wife, Jane McLennan, 4 nieces, Lannye Slone, Kristye Munden, Tina Yaeger, and Tamra Duarte; and 5 nephews, Nathan Camp, Reed McLennan, Michael McLennan, Adam McLennan, and Timothy Chastain.
