Marvin R. Ellis1950 - 2015Marvin R. Ellis, 65, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at St. Catherine's Hospital with his family by his side. Marvin was born on Aug. 4, 1950, in Kenosha to Ben and Alene (Sanderson) Ellis and he was educated in the schools of Kenosha. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1974. He then transferred and spent another 15 years with the National Guard Reserves. Marvin married Janice Becwar on April 20, 1974, at St. Scholastica Catholic Church. He worked for over 30 years at Chrysler until his retirement on March 31, 2003. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was a very faithful man who enjoyed the bible and church hymns. Marvin wore many hats; he was a welder and an artist who loved drawing, etching and painting. He was also a musician and enjoyed playing the harmonica for family and friends. He was a man who loved riding motorcycles and in his heart he was a "Biker." Marvin enjoyed traveling and camping with Janice but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by, his parents; and two sisters, Benny Gail Thompkins and Katherine Laverne Herman.Marvin is survived by, his loving wife of 41 years, Janice of Pleasant Prairie; two daughters, Kimberly (Nathan) Solomon of Bristol and Sherry Ellis of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Emma Solomon, Caitlin DiBiase, Krista, Branndon and Emily Hammermiller; his brother, Joey (Teresa) Ellis of Somers; his sister, Ann (Ron) Leek of Sturtevant, as well as many other family and friends.Funeral services for Marvin will be held at Noon on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Victory Baptist Church (3401 – Springbrook Road). Burial with full military honors will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery (21731 – Spring Street) in Union Grove on Friday at 2 p.m. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
