STEWARTSTOWN Marvin L. Fitzhugh, 83, died Friday, August 1, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary D. (Flemister) Fitzhugh. There will be a viewing from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stewartstown Baptist Church, 18631 Five Forks Road, Stewartstown, with Pastor Lee Peoples officiating. Interment will be in Stewartstown Cemetery with military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. He was born on December 26, 1930, in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Fitzhugh served in the United States
Army during the
Korean War. He worked for McCormick & Company in Hunt Valley, Md., for 32 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. Fitzhugh loved his cats. Surviving are his daughters, Julia M. Orvis and her husband, Terry of Stewartstown, and Jean Ann Barnhouser and her husband, George of Brooklyn Park, Md.; sons, Marvin L. Fitzhugh, Jr. and his wife, Shiela of Essex, Md., and James W. Fitzhugh and his wife, Cynthia of Jacobus; 17 grandchildren; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stewartstown Baptist Church, 18631 Five Forks Road, Stewartstown, PA 17363; or to S.P.C.A of York County, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N., York, PA 17406.
