Sunrise 3/3/64 Sunset 8/17/23 Marvin, Maurice Williams (aka Rasul) of Endicott New York, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Marvin was born in Newark New Jersey on March 3, 1964. Marvin was the second born child to the late Marvin and Doretta Askew. In his early years, Marvin attended Malcolm X Shabazz high school in Newark New Jersey. Marvin‘s passion for football allowed him to play high school varsity football while still attending middle school. Marvin had an athletic scholarship to a top rated school then later enlisted in the Armed Forces and was discharged. Marvin had his only daughter Kiuna early in life . Later in the 2010s Marvin moved to upstate New York to support a close friend with serious health issues. Marvin was a spiritual man who believed there was only one God. One of his favorite quotes was iron sharpens iron. While attending cornerstone community church he met his wife Gwen and was later married to her in 2014. Marvin was a kind and supportive husband,father,and friend. He had a big personality and was easy to get along with as his wisdom and experiences were easily shared. In his free time he would often be found listening to house music and walking his beloved dog Leo. Marvin was a supportive and kind man who had encouraging words and an uplifting spirit toward most everyone he met. Marvin was a lover of many sports and even helped coach the local Little League football team. He is preceded in death by his late parents, his sister Samantha, and his niece Chassidy. Marvin is survived by his loving wife Gwen, his daughter Kiuna, and step children, Gavin and Gabrielle. His four grandchildren Majid, Makayla, Fallyn and Fynix. His siblings Veronica, Wanda, and Craig. And his parents in law Janie and John L whom he love dearly. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marvin loved his entire family wholeheartedly; and boy there was a bunch of them!
