Mary Frances Hancock, 79, of Brandy Station passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Culpeper Hospital. She was born February 8, 1944 to the late Ernest and Margaret Beall in Virginia. Mary was raised from eight years old by her brother, Gene Beall and sister-in-law, Joyce Beall and adopted by the Griffith family.
Mary was a free-spirited person who lived life on her own terms. She loved to garden, animals, flowers, and her LOTTO. She would be found shopping at her favorite thrifts stores and loved being able to get a bargain. She took care of everyone she met and always made sure they had a good meal. She would be the head chef at the family chicken liver dinners. She was a jokester who was very light hearted and took her age well. She was kind and loved by everyone. She was an avid collector of anything Mickey Mouse. When she was not out looking for a deal or cooking, she could be found bowling with one of the many leagues she was on or on her phone. Above all she loved her grandchildren and they loved her. She was a woman of faith and will be missed by all.
Mary is survived by her children, Douglas Eugene Hancock, Mark Allen Hancock (Melissa Williams), and Mary Joyce Hancock (Bryan Franklin); her significant other of 35 years, Elmer Franklin Jordan; grandchildren, Natalie Franklin, Bryan, Franklin, Craig Franklin, Andy Williams, Mark Hancock, Krista Hancock, Willie Hancock, Jasmine Hancock, Jonathan Hancock, Brittney Hancock, and Tiffany Hancock ; great grandchildren, Ivy, Iris, Everli, and Athena; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Chuck” Clayton Hancock, and 5 siblings.
