Our beloved Mary Johnson, born on August 18, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, has left us on March 24, 2026. She was the daughter of Cornelius Johnson and Catherine Spencer. Mary was married to Preston Ward in 1994 and together they raised six children: Tyrone, Iris, Galveston, Chanel, and Darnell. She also had the joy of being a grandmother to ten plus grandchildren.

Mary was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and spent her life spreading love and joy to all who knew her. She had a passion for gardening and was always the life of the party with her infectious laughter.

Unfortunately, Mary lost her battle with cancer, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to know her. Rest in peace, Mary. You will be greatly missed.
