We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary McLaurin, who brought joy and light to the world during her 88 years on this earth. Born on December 24, 1936, in Greenport Long Island New York, Mary was the beloved daughter of Benjamin and Helen Trower.

In 1957, Mary married the love of her life, Melvin Louis McLaurin, and together they raised two wonderful children, Mark Andrew McLaurin and Kim Elizabeth Mclaurin-Eaddy. Mary was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Dana, Michael, Corie, and Sidney.

Mary dedicated many years of her life to working at Social Security before retiring in 1987. She also lent her time and talents to the Voter Registration Church Organization, where she made lasting friendships and contributions.

In her free time, Mary enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as knitting and spending time with her family. Her laughter and warmth will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary McLaurin passed away on May 12, 2025, after a battle with Dementia. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished forever.
