Mary Ann Stein, 92St. Cloudand formerly of PierzSept. 4, 1924 - Dec. 10, 2016Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating the life of Mary Ann Stein, 92 of St. Cloud and formerly of Pierz will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Mary Ann passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, December 10, 2016.  Reverend David Grundman will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church.  Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.Mary Ann was born on September 4, 1924 in Richmond, Minnesota to the late Charles and Ann (Brinkman) Willenbring.  She grew up in Pierz, Minnesota.  She married Raymond J. Stein, M.D. on August 9, 1945 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud.  They lived in Pierz where Dr. Stein practiced medicine and she assisted his practice up until his death in 1979.  She moved to St. Cloud in 1983 and began working as a housekeeper for Fr. Ed Kraemer.  She served many delicious meals for him up until she retired in 1999.  She was a member of St. Michael's Parish, Christian Mothers, St. Michael's Mission Group and Eagles Auxiliary.Mary Ann enjoyed playing in numerous bridge clubs in Pierz and St. Cloud.  She loved traveling with her husband, family, and friends.  She and her husband were world travelers, including a three month trip around the world.  Above all she treasured spending time with her family and friends.  She was a most generous, kind-hearted, and patient woman.  Mary Ann raised five step children and seven of her own.  She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.She is survived by her children, Ray of Tucson, Roy of St. Cloud, Don of Tucson, Paul (Julie) of Fergus Falls, MN, Mark (Stacey) of Bentonville, AR, Mary (Rick) Vasek of St. Cloud whom she lived with, Ruth (Jose) Gaytan of Woodbury, MN, Lupe (Frank) Dzida of Midland, TX, daughters-in-law, Delrose, Bernadette, Bobbi, Rita, Pat, Beverly, Cheryl, and Janel, son-in-law, Glen, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: and her siblings Julia Langer of Eagan, Fr. Mark Willenbring of Melrose, Ted (Donna) Willenbring of Minneapolis, Sr. Joyce Willenbring of St. Joseph.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. R.J. in 1979: step children Lois, Kenneth, Floyd, Dr. Robert, and Dale; grandchildren Fay, Billy and Tisha; brother Gordon, brother-in-law Elmer Langer.Mary Ann deeply loved, with unconditional love, always remembering her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and family and friends with birthday and holiday cards.  She has shaped innumerable lives: our angel will never be forgotten.
