Mary Edith Baldwin Mary, longtime resident of Tacoma, WA, passed away November 7, 2014. Mary was born on August 18th, 1927 in Cashmere, WA, the fifth of six children born to Anna and George Currie. Mary graduated Washington State College in 1950, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education, and from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. That same week she married her husband John Baldwin. Mary's nursing career included working as a hospital, public health, and geriatric nurse. She was the instructor of nursing aides at Bates Technical College for twenty-one years. Mary was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. For the last four years Mary lived with her new family of friends at Frank Tobey Jones Health Care Center. Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband John of 64 years, her children Shirley Kempton (Allen) and James Baldwin (Gail), her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and her brothers William and Charles Currie. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, at 2 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Tacoma. Remembrances may be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church's Memorial Fund.
